In 1 Peter chapter 1, Peter addresses his letter to the Christian sojourners (strangers/travelers) “in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.” These are the Roman provinces that Peter was writing to, in what is modern day Turkey.
